The Client: Our client is one of the most important food companies in Greece and is active in more than twenty-five countries. It is looking to expand its Marketing Department via a new position of “Category Manager” to optimize the company’s potential in Greek market and especially Retail chains.

The Position

Our client is looking to reinforce its Marketing Department via a new position of Category Manager ”  to develop shopper marketing strategy and reassure alignment of ATL, BTL & in-store plans.

# The position is reporting to the Marketing Manager and is based in Athens

# The candidate will build core assortment principles & develop planograms from scratch

# The candidate will analyze consumer research market data, draw conclusions and indicate actions accordingly, for specific activities contributing to the organization’s goals to market share and sales performance.

# The candidate will establish modern trade marketing techniques

Responsibilities/Main tasks

  • Propose and analyze relevant shopper research studies in order to better understand shopper behavior
  • Fully understand market changes and shopper purchase habits
  • Manage all Research tools – i.e. Nielsen Retail Audit, consumer panels. Renovate Nielsen report
  • Establish trade studies procedures (Nielsen retail audit, Consumer panel)
  • Stay up to date with new market trends and competition
  • Land trade stories to customers (innovation, annual plans, etc)
  • Build trade argumentation as a continuous process (brands communication, SKUs distribution & opportunities / threats etc.)
  • Activate brand in store marketing activities
  • Organizing & Monitoring the listing of new SKU’s or replacement
  • Develop exit strategy for delisting
  • Reassure optimum and homogeneous placement of product portfolio on the shelves
  • Propose and develop POS material (in-store consumer promotion, banded stickers, floorstands etc.) to support brands and NPDs launches for national promotions / activations
  • Manage visibility tools and coordinate design with marketing colleagues
  • Manage the relationship and promo plan with Key accounts and strategic partnerships
  • Monitor trade threats
  • Develop national & tailor-made promotional guidelines
  • Evaluate national / big promo activities and make proposals
  • Evaluate ROI of promotional activity and spending. Establish KPIs

Experience & Qualifications

  • Minimum 5-7 years of relevant experience in the FMCG industry
  • Experience in social media, digital tools, category management tools (CatMan / Spaceman)
  • Excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills
  • Business Acumen
  • Excellent use of MS Office and other tools such as Nielsen Answers, BW, SAP and presentation skills
  • Strong collaboration and communication (oral & written) skills at all levels
  • Very strong organizational and Project management skills
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects
  • Strong ability to execute strategy with speed and sense of urgency

Education

University Degree (or Equivalent) in Marketing / Management /Business Administration
MBA or Postgraduate Degree in Marketing, Management will be considered an asset
Proficiency in English and Greek native speaker
